A - Tower, Antwerpen
03 September 2016 - 30 September 2016
Discover the opera and ballet season in 12 original paintings and four drawings on the 20th floor of the A-tower.
Inspired by opera and Ballet Vlaanderen productions, artist Koen van den Broek supplied 12 canvases: new work, complemented by a selection of existing work. He is an atypical Belgian artist who takes his inspiration from an international context. As such, his works find their way to galleries, museums and collectors worldwide. Especially for this exhibition, a large number of original works were brought together from private collections. A revelation for those who are not (yet) familiar with the work of van den Broek and a surprise for those who are: for the first time, human forms reluctantly cast their shadow on the images in the artist’s often architectural abstract works.
From 4 September to 30 September on the 20th floor of the A-Tower, De Keyserlei 5, 2018 Antwerp.
Open from Wednesday to Sunday between 2.00 p.m. and 8.00 p.m.
Entrance fee: at your own discretion.
A joint production of Opera Vlaanderen, Ballet Vlaanderen and M HKA.
The exhibition is realized with the support of patron Bernard Van Hool.
