In 1971 Matta-Clark participated in the ‘Brooklyn Bridge Event’ exhibition. Using litter, he built a wall [*Garbagewall*](http://ensembles.mhka.be/items/3375), a sort of anchorage serving as a setting for domestic activities like eating, cleaning and washing. This film shows the terrible conditions in which the poor and homeless of the Lower East Side in New York lived.
