M HKA gaat digitaal

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

° 1931

Born in Lollar, Hesse (Germany).

Beginning in 1958 Heinz Mack publishes, along with Otto Piene, the review Zero (three issues). Zero will also serve as the collective name when these two artists exhibit together with Günther Uecker. In the Hessenhuis he shows Dynamische Strukturen with gliding vertical or horizontal white or black strips, and Lichtreliefs [light-reliefs] of highly reflective, rhythmical cuts of aluminum. The incidence of light along with the viewer’s own movements evoke the desired vibration effect. In Mack’s oeuvre the Lichtreliefs mark the transition to works that present themselves as objects.
