The collection III with Interventions by Gert Robijns, Wilhelm Sasnal & Bojan Fajfric
22 February 2003 - 18 May 2003
MuHKA, Antwerpen
In the first presentation, there was much room for the rather conceptually coloured core of the collection – the works from the Gordon Matta-Clark Foundation, many of which were brought out for the first time in years. However, in the second presentation the focus was shifted to the more visual art (of painting). The first presentation emphasised international artists who are represented in the collection, while the second presentation created an opening to Belgian art via painters such as Luc Tuymans, Fred Bervoets and Walter Swennen; a trend which is intentionally continued in the new presentation by opting for a marked Belgian presence.
The M HKA collection comprises an important ensemble by Belgian artists, of which some highlights are shown in their international context in this spring presentation.
Apart from work by Fred Bervoets, Jimmie Durham, Bernard Frize, Jan Kempenaers, John Körmeling, Mark Manders, Allan McCollum, Juan Muñoz, Maurizio Nannucci, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Hermann Pitz, Julião Sarmento, Walter Swennen, James Turrell, Luc Tuymans, Jan Vercruysse en Lawrence Weiner, the exhibition will also include work by Dirk Braeckman, Marcel Broodthaers, Jacques Charlier, Patrick Corillon, Anne Decock Van Raef, Wim Delvoye, Jef Geys, Marin Kasimir, Ria Pacquée, Patrick Van Caeckenbergh, Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven en Didier Vermeiren.
