M HKA gaat digitaal

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

Travelling through Japan recently, Christophe Terlinden was struck by the unusual shapes of a Japanese climbing cage noticed in Kyoto. After his return in Belgium, he contacted a friend, living in Japan, to get the exact measurements of the climbing cage and reproduced the exact size, form and dimensions in 3D images on his computer back in Belgium. The present work is a contemporary representation by the artist of a Japanese climbing cage. Each ladder, covered with gold leaves of approximately 24K gold, is part of a limited edition of 19 produced by the artist.
