M HKA gaat digitaal

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

In the audiovisual poem Sunset am Meer (1967) the text emphasises the visual in a more organic way. It is a handwritten piece of typography in which examples of onomatopoeia such as ‘klotst’, ‘patpatpatpat’ and ‘gállalop’ form a hand drawn circle and an elegant ‘S’ shape. The work appears so organic due to the spontaneous handwriting that is let loose across the text area. The combination of the handwriting and the curves simultaneously evokes a concrete and a mental image of a sunset at the coast.
