Lili Dujourie

1983

Photography, 45 x 45 cm.
Materials:

Collection: Verzameling F. De Beir.

The link between photography and painting in the oeuvre of Lili Dujourie is made apparent in this piece through several different traits. First of, the red velvet backdrop recalls the rich portrayal of textiles by the Flemish Primitives or the Baroque painters. The female nude is also a recurrent theme in painting. And finally the photo is printed on canvas and framed, which ties the characteristics of the two media together.

Untitled (red nude) is an indication of Dujourie’s works to come in textile.
